The disciples gathered around Jesus.
Jesus said to his disciples, "I know you are very sad. But it is good for you that I am going away."
The disciples wondered, "How is Jesus' leaving good? What does Jesus mean?"
Jesus said, "If I don't leave, the Holy Spirit will not come to you. If I go, I will send him to you."
Jesus had told them the Holy Spirit would be their friend.
Jesus said, "I have so much more to tell you, but it is too hard for you to understand. Don't worry, when the Holy Spirit comes, he will help you understand."
The Holy Spirit helps people understand the truth about Jesus.
The Holy Spirit helps them believe in Jesus.
Jesus toldhis disciples, "In just a little while I will be gone. Now is your time of grief, but I will see you again and you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy."
Then Jesus’ disciples said, "This makes us believethat you came from God.”
Jesus replied,“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace.In this world you will have trouble.But take heart! I have overcomethe world.”
